Cats tend to use their sense of smell to deem whether or not they are going to like the food underneath their furry noses. The gravy / jelly smells much more appealling to the kitty cat than the meat on its own and therefore they are not interested in eating it.
Have you tried switching to a supermeat version or tried really mashing up the food so the cat is unable to simply lick all of the jelly / gravy off.
Or you can simply leave the dish down for kitty - they will generally eat if they are hungry and no other choice is on offer. ![]()
